 Symbolism: Tragedy, Pain
Theme: Love, Forgiveness

1. What does the title mean in relation to the film as a whole?
  •  the title mean as a whole talks about sufferings and pains that the characters go through in the entire film. it shows on how life can be miserable at times.
2. Among the characters, to whom can you relate to?
  • I want to relate on Jean Valjean, this character makes me open an eye to those people who is said to be bad. Like the prisoners, despite of how bad they feel, how bad they cause someone if they are given a chance to change themselves they can be the best person they could be.
3. Which part of the presentation struck you the most? Why?

  • the part in the film that struck me the most is when Fr. Myriel says that he all the silver wares to Jean. By this, I sense that Fr. really wants to open the good side of Jean Valjean. He tries to promise Jean Valjean that atleast he can be honest at all times.
4. What is the movie’s message?
  • the message of the movie is no matter how bad the person is,or how empty he feels in his life,if he really wants to change for the better he really can. And no problem can't be solve if you are determined to overcome it. Lastly, love and forgiveness is the key to a happy life.
5. Did I like this in general? Why?
  • yes, I liked the film because it talks about the reality of life. The film doesn't only entertain the viewer but also gives us lessons that we can use in daily life.
6. Did I agree with the main theme/purpose? Why or why not?
  • I agree, the theme is the love and forgiveness. And it's purpose is to relate the viewer in the real life situation on how love and forgiveness conquers all the pains and hurts in life.
7. What specifically did I like/dislike? Why?
  • I don't like the part that Fantine died without seeing her daughter again. Also when she decided to be in prostitution just to send allowance to her daughter.
8. Are there any aspects of theme which are left ambiguous at the end? Why?
  • for me none, the film is can be understand clearly. And all the characters was known as the story goes.
9. How does this film relate to the things that are happening in your life?
  • the film relates to the thing that is happening to my life by changing the wrong things that I've done, even it is just small things. This also tells me that no matter how painful life can be,we are still blessed to have it. All I have to do is to choose the best way that will lead me towards success and towards a happy life.

Lonely Heart
        by Rachel Peck
Behind pretty smiles
and behind pretty eyes,
she carries her trials,
and on no one she relies.

All alone in her heart.
What else can fall apart?
Darkness overhead looming,
won’t stop until it’s consuming.

Her heart it starts to infest.
Her mind put to the test.
In her problems she is wading,
and the shore is quickly fading
.

She looks up to the sky,
if you’re up there God, why?
Why am I all alone,
stuck in this worlds tidal zone.
